General Info

Format

We will be hosting a one week Satellite competition for division B and C that will take place on the first week of November.

Per the SOINC website, those who wish to attend the Satellite competition must take the tests under the supervision of their coach. Students may take tests anywhere as long as all members taking the tests are present and under a coach's supervision. Our tournament is asynchronous, meaning teams can participate in the 50 minute events anytime during the competition. Students on the team but not actively taking tests do not need to all be at their test-taking location. The tournament starts Nov. 2 at 8:00 AM EDT and ends on Nov. 9 at 11:00 PM EST. We encourage teams from the same school to take tests for a certain event at the same time to ensure academic honesty.

Awards

Custom Rickards Invitational medals will be awarded to the top 15 teams for each division.
Different departments at Florida State University are sponsoring certain division C events, and will award $50-$100 to the students that win the specific events.

• Timeline - This document includes important deadlines coaches should see to ensure our competition runs smoothly. We will adhere this schedule and if you are on the mailing list, you will be notified about any changes immediately.
• Event Slate - This document includes a list of all the division B and division C events we will be offering. The ones in red are trial events.
• Event Modifications - This document will include all the modifications we do to the rules of an event. Every event should be there and if there are no changes it will say so.
• Announcements - This document will have all the announcements we give out and important updates. Each announcement will also be sent via email to all coaches and anyone on the email list. Coaches joining the mailing list late should go read the prior announcements to get on the same page as the other coaches.
• Team Issues - This document will have all issues relating to team submissions. We will keep track of out of browser disqualifications and file inaccessibility here. We will email disqualifications relating to anti-cheat questions directly to competitors. It is imperative that both students and coaches monitor this document and email us at director@rsoi.org immediately if you have any issues.
